Why do I always get fuzz balls on all my new expensive flannel sheets?
Brand new flannel sheets, Kings. Usually cost between 50-60 dollars, its really aggravating. Fuzz Balls!!! You move your legs, and feel them, I hate it.

Must’ve been all that activity going on sown there!….
do not wash them with towels. wash them alone.
You can remove them either by using a dull old 2 blade razor and carefully shaving them off or by purchasing a sweater shaver which is a battery operated machine that you can find for a few bucks at fabric stores.
As for what causes pilling, it can be a combination of factors when the garment or item has a "hand" nub, or texture. First, you should always wash them with items that are of the same fiber weight. For example, heavier items, such as towels or denim, tend to act abrasively on the texture as they swirl around in the wash water to create pills. Second, wash fabrics with a texture on the gentlest cycle in the washer as you can. That is because sometimes the agitation of the drum and the spin cycle will also cause the fibers to pill.
Sweater shaver work great. I use flannel sheets all the time, and I know what you mean. Even when you’re careful about how you wash them, they get those pesky fuzz balls. I also use fabric softener, and that seems to help a lot.
